If you have a documented disability, you may be eligible for accommodations on SAT Program tests. Arrangements can be made if you need adjustments to the test setting, such as wheelchair accessibility or seating where you can lip read; other accommodations, such as a printed copy of spoken directions; or access to snacks or medicine due to a medical condition.
To receive test accommodations, you need to:
-
Apply for accommodations
Complete a Student Eligibility Form (available from your counselor) before you register. If you are requesting accommodations that you receive at your school, your school must also complete part of the form.
-
Submit your application the spring before your first test
If possible, submit the form in the spring before your first College Board test (PSAT/NMSQT, AP or SAT) to ensure enough time to process your application.
-
Register
Once you have received your Eligibility Approval Letter, you can submit your registration. When registering online, you will be prompted to enter your unique SSD code located in the upper right-hand corner of your Eligibility Approval Letter.
If you choose to register by mail, include a copy of your Eligibility Approval Letter or a completed Student Eligibility Form with your registration and payment.
If you must register before your accommodations are approved:
Submit your completed Student Eligibility Form together with your paper SAT Registration Form in the College Board SSD Program envelope that was included with the Student Eligibility Form. Then mail your forms by the appropriate date. Note that the eligibility application deadlines are earlier than the SAT registration deadlines. There is also a seven-week deadline for eligibility that requires Documentation Review.
