Introduction

The Korean Subject Test with Listening evaluates your ability to communicate the Korean language in a culturally appropriate manner. This test measures your ability to comprehend both written and spoken Korean. Offered only in November at designated test centers.

Based on short, spoken dialogues and narratives, primarily about everyday topics. All listening questions and their possible answers are in English.

Questions will be written entirely in Hangŭl and require you to complete Korean sentences or phrases so that they are structurally and logically correct.

Reading comprehension

Questions are based on passages written entirely in Hangŭl, and require understanding the literal meaning. Some inference questions may be included. The Korean selections are drawn from authentic materials, such as diaries, notes, menus, newspaper articles, advertisements, letters, and easy literary texts. All reading comprehension questions are in English.
